Background: MTBing at first was just messing around with mates and plenty of time was spent at the local jumps. After dabbling in downhill I decided that it's not all about riding with gravity and traded in the DH rig for an XC machine. I used to do a lot of cross-country running and athletics at school so I knew that I could get fit if I wanted to and started doing a few races. 2003 and saw me do a couple of novice Gorricks and I caught the bug. 2004 was my first ‘proper' season which saw me finish 1 st in the Sport NPS and the overall rankings. 2005 sees me in Expert with a tougher challenge with the aim of earning an Elite licence.
